I'm beginning to believe that my favorite medium is gouache. It has the luminosity of watercolor, with the added bonus that if I use it without too much watering down it can cover up mistakes! I'm in love with the work of Alex Ross right now, Marvel comic artist extraordinaire. Can you tell I'm being influenced. ;-)

He paints all the superheroes in a painterly realistic fashion. When I saw his work, I started dreaming of how Jim and Blair would look painted as superheroes. Jim is easy to imagine, but Blair is a problem. How to draw him as a superhero, without making him a sidekick. Hmmmm.... SuperJim is OK, but BlairBoy?
