Early
Artwork
The
earliest stuff I've kept is from the late sixties which
puts me at about 12 or 13 years. This is when my father
enrolled me in an art correspondence course with the
Art Instruction School. I remember being absolutely
thrilled to be getting art lessons. Receiving that first
big box of supplies, full of lesson binders, pencils,
paints, brushes, is still one of the most wonderful
memories I have.
By
the 1970's many things had changed in my life and
art took a low priority, but occasionally I would
dig out my sketch books. I wasn't receiving the art
correspondence course any longer but it had set me
on the right track. Once in a while I would remember
the number one rule, draw, sketch, doodle...practice,
practice, practice and it would set me off again.
